The best way to defend yourself is to avoid putting yourself in dangerous situations to begin with. When out and about town or even in their own home, a person needs to be aware of what is going on around them and who is around them. Keep your eyes open, look ahead, and look behind you. Recognize a possible threat before it is close enough to bring you and others you care about, physical harm.
Shopping malls, for example, are huge gathering places. Whether its social one on one, shopping or checking out the scenery, it’s easy to forget what’s around you, especially if children are involved. Start defending yourself when you arrive at a shopping mall, before you ever exit your vehicle. You should park in a well-light area.
Always park as close to the front of the building before you unlock and get out of your vehicle; determine the safest route to the building. Be certain to have all of your belongings gathered together and be ready to exit the vehicle as soon as you unlock the door. Keep your keys in your hand, space the keys between your fingers so that if attacked, you can use this as a defense weapon. Identify possible threats as you walk and attempt to avoid when walking near them.
The same rules apply when leaving a shopping mall. You must be aware of those standing around outside. Take note of people that may be watching you or individuals near your vehicle. Your instincts are powerful tools so don’t ignore them.
If you feel there may be a possible threat, go back inside and ask a security guard to escort you to your car. Have your keys ready to open your vehicle. Once inside, immediately lock all doors. If you have an electronic key, use it only when you are standing next to the door. If it unlocks more than just the driver’s door, avoid using it all together and open your car door the old fashioned way.
You’ll find that unlocking a car door with a key is in some ways a lot faster and easier than fiddling with keypads too. Keep car doors locked at all times while driving. Today’s newer vehicles often come standard with automatic door locks that engage when a vehicle reaches a certain speed. However, in low speed areas such as a mall or parking lot, door locks may not work at these speeds. So as a precaution manually lock your doors in low speed areas.
You must be aware of all your surroundings at all times. Being aware of possible threats can help you avoid them and keep you and your loved ones safe. The information in this article comes from personal experience.

Getting eight hours of rest, a good diet and taking multivitamins are the best ways to maintain a healthy body. But did people know that drinking coffee is also beneficial because it has antioxidants?
This was discovered after researchers did further tests to check if there are any effects of drinking coffee aside from increased alertness. Studies conclude that taking two to three cups daily can prevent various diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, depression and the prevention of cavities.
Another study shows that the antioxidants contained in coffee are more effective than those coming from fruits and vegetables. This is because not all of the nutrients here have done much to protect the individual from various diseases.
Aside from coffee, other substances that also contains caffeine, which can help boost the immune system, are tea and chocolate. Red wine or beer is also helpful but these must be consumed in moderation.
Green coffee beans for example have something inside called chlorogenic acid. This is an antioxidant that helps regulate the digestive system and makes the body absorb oxygen much better than other liquids.
Regular black coffee on the other hand has caffeic acid, melanoidins and N-methylpyridinium.
There are people who drink coffee with cream, milk or sugar. Even if one or all three are mixed with coffee, the level of antioxidants remains the same so people can still reap the benefits of drinking it.
So, the next time you go to a café and decide to get a drink, chances are coffee will be ordered instead of a cup of tea. You will just have to choose from the different variants now available which could be either hot or cold.
Studies have shown that there is nothing wrong with drinking more than three cups of coffee daily. Some people are able to do it while others can’t. The best thing to do is know when enough is enough. After all, there is always tomorrow and it isn’t that difficult to brew up a new batch. By engaging in other things that will benefit one’s lifestyle, you will surely live until one is in 70’s or 80’s.
The only ones who shouldn’t drink coffee are those who are pregnant, are suffering from heart disease or children who will become restless with the excess energy due to the caffeine.

Coffee From Latin Countries
Black is in in Mexico
Coffee in the Latin American region is mostly centered on the Mexican parts of the region. Coffees are produced on the gulf side of the region particularly in the Vera Cruz State. Coffees in these areas that are worthy to try on are the Altura Orizaba and Altura Huatusco. Another source of coffee on this side of the world is the Altura Coatepec, which are purported to be really good.
Those that are produced in Oaxaca State as well as those in the Chiapas state are also enjoying great reviews from coffee lovers all over the world.
Fine coffees are however not a big thing in the Latin region as they lack the richness and thickness that can be seen in the coffees of other countries. Black coffees are still best in Mexico.
Coffee gold mine
The best coffees in the world can be found in the lands of this small country. Guatemala produces some of the best tasting coffees in the world. Among the kinds that it is most famous for are the Antigua coffee, the Coban, which can be found in the Alta Verapaz regions and the Huehuetenango, which is also great-tasting although not as celebrated as the other two.
Still, the Hue hue tenango is fast gaining ground as many now prefer this over the Antigua, not because it is better tasting but because the quality of the latter is dipping.
Coffee in Guatemala has a distinct spicy flavor that is hard to get from coffees in other countries. This is perhaps why its coffee industry is steadily climbing.
Rich and Robust
There is nothing more you could ask for in the coffee of Costa Rica. Compared to the Mexican coffee, Costa Rican kinds are richer and more robust. In fact, their coffee is often compared to a good wine. Coffees are grown primarily in San Jose, particularly in the districts of Tres Rios, Alajuela and San Marcos de Tarrazu.
Blended in the mountains
The most famous of coffee blends come from the Jamaican Blue Mountain. This is one of the most distinguished coffee blends in the world, known for its pricey tag and distinctly addicting flavor. The success of the Blue Mountain blend is actually a sharp contrast to the failure of the coffee industry in other parts of the region particularly in the lowlands.
Because of the heavy prices that coffees in the Blue Mountains command, locals take advantage and call their coffees Blue Mountain even if they aren’t produced in the same altitude. This is perhaps the reason why coffee produce has begun to dip in popularity.
